The Five People You Meet in Heaven

Eddie is a wounded war veteran, an old man who has lived, in his mind, an uninspired life. His job is fixing rides at a seaside amusement park. On his 83rd birthday, a tragic accident kills him as he tries to save a little girl from a falling cart. He awakes in the afterlife, where he learns that heaven is not a destination. It's a place where your life is explained to you by five people, some of whom you knew, others who may have been strangers. One by one, from childhood to soldier to old age, Eddie's five people revisit their connections to him on earth, illuminating the mysteries of his meaningless life, and revealing the haunting secret behind the eternal question: Why was I here?
____________
So, out of all the books we could have possibly read, we read THIS (its too long of a title to type out). Why is it that in all English classes we have to read those sappy realistic fiction books instead of something exciting (like the Hunger Games. Seriously. I'm totally for adding it to the curriculum)?
But anyway. Nothing to really write about with this book. Really short, nice and to the point with everything (NO FLUFF! PHEW!), and a very interesting ending all in all leads to a good book.
There, I'm done now? Can I go and actually read a book more than a hundred pages now?

Oh, and by the way, if you're just joining me, I'm Lauren, and I blog periodically about the books I read. But, since I've just started high school, there will be some spaces in between the posts. (Because the teachers are EVIL)

  1. You'll still have a little time to blog in between the school work (from the evil teachers, lol).
I look forward to reading your blog and have added some of your book suggestions to my "must read" list. (like the Hunger Games)
